Sportgenic Appoints Sports Media and Advertising Industry Veteran Kevin Granath to Senior Vice President of Sales

San Francisco, Calif. (August 18, 2008)-Sportgenic, a sports media and technology company dedicated to connecting marketers with sports enthusiasts, today announced the appointment of Kevin M. Granath to senior vice president of sales. Granath brings a unique perspective to his new role, having excelled as both an advertising industry executive specializing in sports media and an Emmy Award-winning television sports producer.

As senior vice president of sales at Sportgenic, Granath will help cultivate relationships between Sportgenic's national and international advertiser base and their stable of over 350 participatory sports sites.

"Kevin's advertising and media experience, combined with his passion for sports, makes him a great fit and a solid leader for our sales efforts," said Robert Tas, CEO of Sportgenic.

Granath most recently served as vice president of business development for IPG's Ansible Mobile, though he has devoted the majority of his career to his passion: sports. Prior to IPG, he was senior director for ESPN's international advertising sales, where he managed global advertising sales for ESPN's international TV, online and wireless assets, with 26 networks in 190 countries.

Granath has also served as ESPN's senior director for emerging media sales, where he started an ad sales department for ESPN's "non-traditional" media ventures, including mobile, interactive TV, broadband, VOD, DVR, and HD. Granath cut his digital sales teeth in the mid-1990s for ESPN Internet Ventures, where he led the sales team responsible for ESPN.com, NFL.com, NBA.com, WNBA.com and NASCAR Online.

Prior to ESPN, Granath was senior account executive at OCC Sports, Inc., at the time the largest outside supplier of sports programming to the major networks, where he was able to work with the organizers and sell sponsorships into the Ironman Triathlon, IndyCar racing and numerous golf and tennis events.

Before switching his focus to the advertising side of the industry, Granath worked as a TV producer. He won a national sports Emmy Award in 1985 as an associate producer working on "ABC SportsBeat with Howard Cosell." He later worked with Cosell as Associate Producer for "Howard Cosell Speaking of Everything."

During the late '80s and early '90s, Granath was a senior producer for the World Wrestling Federation.

Granath is an avid skier, golfer, kayaker and paddle tennis player.
