Marti Funk Joins Active Athlete Media as Vice President, Client Solutions and Insights - 09-10-2007

San Francisco, Calif. (September 10, 2007) - Active Athlete Media, Inc., an online media company that connects advertisers with active consumers engaged in lifestyle sports, has appointed Marti Funk as vice president, client solutions and insights. In this role, Funk is responsible for overseeing strategic relationships with leading agencies and brand marketers by offering guidance and insight via research, trends and value-added services.

Funk has a decade worth of experience in Internet marketing, emerging media and digital merchandising. Most recently, she served as vice president, digital distribution and partner strategy for San Francisco-based Real Branding. Her clients included ABC Daytime, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, Anheuser-Busch (InBev), Unilever's Lipton Tea, Levis Strauss Signature and the Darden Restaurant Group. For these companies, she was instrumental in developing digital brand strategy and media roadmaps using consumer insights, competitive assessment and partnership opportunities.

Funk's has used her media expertise in a number of other roles, including media director for CARAT Fusion, e-commerce marketing specialist for PETCO Animal Supplies, INC., and as a digital media strategist/analyst for LOT21, INC. Her experience spans globally with leading brands in the consumer electronics, consumer-packaged goods, apparel, automotive and entertainment categories.

Funk holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication with a minor in computer science, technical resource management from Western Washington University.

With a passion for team sports such as volleyball and softball as well as backcountry skiing, hiking, surfing and outrigger paddling, Funk is the perfect fit for her new role in a company devoted to active, lifestyle sports.
