San Francisco, Calif. (July 10, 2007)-Active Athlete Media, an online media company that connects advertisers with consumers actively engaged in lifestyle sports, has hired T.J. Kelly as vice president of marketing. In his position, Kelly is responsible for all aspects of marketing and communications for Active Athlete's publisher, advertiser and consumer products.

Kelly brings more than 12 years of marketing and business development experience to Active Athlete. He most recently served as vice president of marketing for LookSmart, an online advertising and technology company. Here, he was primarily responsible for the marketing and growth of the company's self-service and managed advertisers. During his tenure, Kelly and his team added thousands of new advertisers and increased the average monthly spend per advertiser by 60%.

Prior to LookSmart, he served as vice president of sales and marketing for Clear Capital, a privately held company that saw a 300% revenue growth and 100% marketing ROI through the time Kelly was onboard. His experience also includes time as director of business development for Smith & Jones Marketing. He has developed and executed marketing strategies and advertising campaigns in a wide range of industries, including technology, sports, travel and real estate for companies like Anheuser-Busch and Intrawest.

Having grown up in Squaw Valley, California near Lake Tahoe, Kelly is passionate about downhill skiing, water skiing, cycling and mountain biking. He's also an enthusiastic sports fan who can be seen on the sidelines of triathlons, marathons, ski races and major sporting events cheering on friends, amateurs and pro athletes.

Kelly holds an M.S. in business and marketing from San Francisco State University and a B.S. in business and marketing from Chico State University.
