Sales Planner 

Reports to Director of Ad Solutions

Target Salary: Varies based on experience

Location: San Francisco, New York

Summary:

The Sales Planning role an integral part of SportgenicTM, responsible for developing client-focused marketing programs, coordinating client proposals, and supporting sales development. This person will work with SportgenicTM Sales Directors and Ad Solutions teams to develop sophisticated client and sport-enthusiast focused sales proposals across multiple digital media channels.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare collateral for sales meetings and presentations
  • Identify target media audiences based on client objectives and parametersLead the preparation of sales proposals and sales presentations to agency and client partners in a timely manner, which may require extensive formatting utilizing Power Point, Word or Excel
  • Provide media usage data, competitive analysis, and industry specific research utilizing tools like ComScore, Nielsen, Quantcast, MRI and Strata
  • Respond to, maintain and enter data for third party Request for Proposals (RFP's)
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams on custom program development
  • Assist in the development of new sales strategies focused on the sport-enthusiast audience & digital technology/media research
  • Identify sport-focused digital social communities for sales development efforts
  • Maintain media kits and collateral related to new partner custom media opportunities (Podcasts, Mobile, Social Networks, Widgets, Advertorial, etc)
  • Provide regular network metrics reports leveraging existing technology
  • Support post sales team efforts as needed
  • Maintain a high level of customer service by communicating with internal teams, executing requests and proactively responding, as appropriate
  • Sales coordination and execution as necessary
  • Assist with special projects as necessary (example: support in the execution of audience research studies)

Qualifications:

  • B.A. or B.S. Degree in Business, Marketing or related field preferred
  • 2-3 years of media or marketing planning/buying experience, including at least 1 year focused on online
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills (including presentation skills)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft business applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of media math or previous experience media planning or buying
  • Familiarity cross-tabulating media usage, demographic, psychographic and product usage data from various media and marketing databases including ComScore, Nielsen, Quantcast, MRI, and TNS
  • Negotiation Techniques
  • Trafficking & digital campaign management technology experience (DART, Atlas experience preferred)
  • Ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple projects, & work overtime if necessary
  • Proven ability to work well within a team environment while accomplishing individual projects
  • Skill in organizing and prioritizing work, and following assignments through to completion
  • Skill with data analysis and figure aptitude with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work well under pressure with deadlines - strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks
  • Superb communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be a team player, with a positive, driven attitude!
  • Appreciation for the "sport enthusiast" preferred, but not required

Regional Sales Manager

Location: New York, Detroit

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Generate revenue through prospecting and cold calling potential clients; identify business needs and develop ad sales solutions
  • Generate advertising revenue through new account acquisition
  • Maintain and up sell existing accounts
  • Demonstrated experience prospecting and growing client requests for proposals (RFP)
  • Analyze client data, ROI, media buying cycles, marketing philosophy, target demographics
  • Educate clients on product and marketing strategies to improve Web presence
  • Work with ad operations to generate proposals and proactively create new ideas for advertisers
  • Ensure new programs, products and updates are successfully launched
  • Consistently meet or exceed aggressive sales goals and objectives
  • Occasional travel, face-to-face client meetings, and tradeshows

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA or equivalent required
  • Thorough knowledge of CPM, CPC, CPA Sales models
  • Knowledge of sports industry highly preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic; ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced, ever changing industry
